Glue Dam Solutions

For the corrugator the glue dams resp. their sealing ability are crucial for a high productivity.
Important is that no glue is transferred to the corrugating rolls, press roll or double facer belt.
This can cause production issues, downtime and increased maintenance costs.

All upgrades are available as single solutions as well as contributing packages.

Glue Dam Sealings

If the glue dams do not seal accurately the glue will be accumulating on the corrugating rolls.
There it will harden and press the corrolls apart causing bad flute formation and bad board quality.

Corr24 is able to offer the materials and design used for high speed machines to upgrade older single facers with this technology.

Glue Dam Positioning

On a lot of machines the positioning system does not work accurately.
Either the motors are in an exposed position that they fail due to the heat and steam or they are not accurate enough for a reliable adjustment.
On others pneumatic motors are used which typically overrun due to residual air in the lines and because air is a compressible medium.

Depending on the machine model Corr24 can upgrade the machine with either servo motors or hydraulic cylinders to assure an accurate positioning.

Glue Dam Automatic

As today plants are facing a higher no. of orders, shorter runs and have to react faster to customer demands, the no. of working widht changes in the wet end increases as well.
This results in a higher workload for the the operators.
With a glue dam automatic system a part of this load can be taken away and the glue dams position themselves.

Corr24 uses a light grid system to detect the web edge and sends the signal to the glue dams where to position.
This system works without any moving parts, is very robust and sends an immediate signal.
It is also able to follow the web edge when the paper wanders out of the middle.
